Barton Marina Joins Lakeland Leisure Estates
We are excited to introduce Barton Marina on the Trent & Mersey Canal as our newest member of the Lakeland Leisure family. Barton is the fifth inland marina operated by Lakeland Leisure Estates and the very first of our portfolio to offer residential moorings.
About Barton Marina
Barton Marina first opened for business in 2001. On the Trent & Mersey Canal in the peaceful surroundings of rural Staffordshire, Barton Marina is just a short drive or a day's narrowboat cruise from Great Haywood Marina and offers 300 berths for both residential and annual mooring with monthly, quarterly and annual rates, plus visitor moorings for cruisers looking for somewhere to stay a couple of nights. You'll also find two lakes on site, ideal for fishing and leisurely walks.
The Waterfront Pub, a popular local with a reputation for great food, opened in 2007 and was soon followed by other cafes and restaurants, shops and a The Red Carpet Cinema all built in the same Victorian warehouse style using reclaimed timber and brick. Barton Marina quickly became one of Staffordshire’s best-loved leisure locations.
Today Barton Marina is a vibrant and popular destination for shopping, dining and days out, with regular events such as a monthly artisan market with 40 stalls of unique arts and crafts, and Streatfood Social for the best street food, music and great atmosphere.
Why moor with Barton Marina?
Barton Marina is our first marina to join the group offering both residential and leisure moorings with monthly, quarterly and annual rates. Alternatively, if you are just passing by, we have visitor moorings for cruisers looking for somewhere to stay a couple of nights.
The marina has great facilities, including:
You'll never run out of things to do at Barton Marina. Our Marina Café provides freshly cooked dishes including soup, sandwiches, full English breakfasts, delicious cakes and much more, providing the perfect environment for socialising with friends.
With plenty more places to drink, dine and shop around the marina you'll be spoilt for choice. In Barton Under Needwood you can find great attractions such as Gallery 3, an award winning art gallery, National Forest Llama Treks, Branston Water Park, Midland Go Karting, and much more.
If you love exploring the network, Barton Marina is the place to moor your boat. From here you can reach a variety of popular cruising routes such as The Cheshire Ring, Black Country Ring, Four Counties Ring, Llangollen Canal, the Staffordshire and Worcestershire Canal and the Caldon Canal.
If nature is your thing you'll enjoy mooring just outside of the Cannock Chase AONB, and you'll have to visit the new Tuckleshome Nature Reserve just outside the marina. Barton Marina also has great access to key commuter cities such as Birmingham, Nottingham and Leicester.
Our Roam Free scheme
As an annual moorer at Barton Marina, you can now enjoy cruising even more with our free visitor mooring scheme, which allows you to visit any of our 4 other inland marinas across the UK for free!*
Barton Marina moorers can enjoy Saul Junction Marina in Gloucestershire, Tattenhall Marina in Cheshire, Great Haywood Marina in Staffordshire, and Roydon Marina Village in Essex.
Our Roam Free scheme encourages the freedom to explore the waterways whilst knowing you have a home mooring. With Roam Free you can cruise the canals and enjoy both rural and city life from the water at your own pace, knowing you have a mooring to hand.
* Subject to availability, please contact your destination marina in advance of arrival.
